Prototypes & NPI

By using a tried and tested approach, our dedicated NPI team works closely with our customers throughout the entire process to deliver new product introductions on time and within budget. Our experienced NPI team guides customers through the our robust, controlled NPI process by utilising sophisticated project management skills and tools such as critical path analysis together with ‘common sense’ based approaches such as attention to detail and regular two-way communication.

The NPI process starts at the quote request (RFQ) stage where our highly skilled Business Development Team reviews the requirements of a product or project and analyses the build pack, data and specifications etc. Once a Purchase Order is received, a formal handover process takes place and process owners take responsibility for their element of the project. At this stage a detailed project plan is developed. JJS employs robust document, engineering change and reporting control to ensure continued integrity of the information used.

A project manager is assigned to each project as a key interface between the JJS and customer teams, though ‘engineer to engineer’ communication is also encouraged. The project manager ensures that the appropriate resources are allocated and that all milestones, activities and tasks are tracked throughout all phases of the NPI process in order to enable a seamless transition into manufacturing.
