Cost effective design |
Core to the JJS Electronics
business is the assembly of pcbs using cost effective techniques
to achieve high quality within a versatile
manufacturing strategy. Covering all technologies, the broad
range of pcb assembly services complement the company’s wider system assembly and test capability.
Conventional assembly Using traditional methods and employing many years of experience,
JJS staff carry out manual assembly of conventional technology
pcbs in prototype, small, medium and larger volumes. Surface
mount assembly Ongoing investments in modern equipment
are supported by experienced staff with a proven ability
to manufacture high reliability assemblies.
Working with all surface mount packages including BGA, Chip Scale Packages
and passives down to 0201, a high level of placement accuracy,
solder
joint integrity and quality is consistently achieved. State-of-the-art
equipment JJS Electronics utilises state-of-the-art equipment
to achieve
consistently high levels of yield and process control through
cost effective investment. Mydata, DEK and BTU equipments provide
integrated features such as process monitoring and controls
to streamline and optimise smt production. RoHS
1st
July 2006, regulatory requirements prevent the use of lead
in non-exempt electronic assemblies. JJS actively
supports customers
by providing advice and support aimed at achieving lead
free status for their products. JJS has established RoHS
compliant
smt and conventional processes by way of new investments
in capital equipment and the adoption of proven processes.
The JJS MRP system allows RoHS status to be appended to
all
component definitions, based on written supplier statements.

Exempt product
JJS has established a series of compliant lead
free processes. However, we continue to provide lead based processing,
in all areas and both factory locations, for exempt product and
would expect this to continue for the foreseeable future.
Cost effective design
Commonly the greatest savings in product cost
are achieved at the design stage. Ensuring that pcb layouts are
optimised for fabrication and assembly processes
is essential as designs become more complex. JJS engineers are
available to offer sound advice in choice of materials, pcb layout,
test access, mechanical assembly, packaging and wiring. An early
discussion between engineers can save time, frustration and money.
