Postponement Manufacturing

Leading on from our lean manufacturing techniques, JJS can provide our customers with a truly agile service by harnessing our postponement manufacturing services and outbound logistics capabilities including direct shipment services.

This sophisticated supply chain service enables JJS to provide our customers with late-stage configuration of products closer to the ultimate end user. For our OEM customers with highly configurable products, these late stage configuration and postponement techniques can alleviate many of their demand forecasting challenges and enable them to achieve new levels of product differentiation and supply chain efficiency.

Our after build services system operates as follows:

JJS manufacture a generic version of the product up to an ‘embryo’ level and hold this in inventory awaiting instructions from the customer. The final product is then configured and packaged as appropriate based upon actual customer demand. This means that the postponement manufacturing process can rapidly respond to demand by configuring different variations/options along with the appropriate accessories, packaging and instruction manuals for the product options being selected and the country it is being shipped to. The JJS Electronics postponement service is particularly attractive to customers wishing to take advantage of JJS Electronic’s CEE contract electronics manufacturing facility ideally located in Chomutov, Czech Republic which provides an agile gateway to Europe for our UK or USA based OEM customers.
