Experienced in supplying complete working products, JJS offers a versatile and diverse approach to test and diagnostics aimed at achieving an agreed level of confidence in functionality of product under test.
Design for test (DFT)
The most significant cost savings can often be achieved with the least pain whilst still at the design stage. By involving JJS engineers at an early stage needless cost penalties in manufacturing can be avoided and on-time delivery can be optimised by ensuring the most rewarding test access.
Test strategy development
Choosing from the array of test techniques available to them, JJS engineers can assist in selecting the most cost effective test regime for each product, achieving the highest confidence level in the least time and the lowest overall cost.
In-circuit test
Though little used in the small and medium volume mixed batch sector, JJS offers full on-site in-circuit test, both analogue and digital, with boundary scan vector-less test. Test fixtures and programmes are also produced on-site. For the slightly larger volumes ICT is invaluable as a pre-cursor to Functional test, reducing debug time and significantly increasing functional test yield.
Functional test
Functional test is a common element of most test strategies. Whilst functional testing can often be de-skilled it makes the highest demands on skill for diagnostics. Employing degree level and life experienced test engineers JJS offers an efficient test and diagnostic service. Functional test fixtures are designed and produced in-house or may be consigned by the customer.
Boundary Scan / JTAG
With a ‘JTAG chain’ designed into the hardware, a boundary scan test is a very fast method of testing, debugging and programming even the most complex digital circuits,. JJS have experience in providing and running a variety of boundary scan solutions including X-JTAG and Goepel.
Flying Probe
Ideal for smaller batch sizes and where fixed test probe access is limited, flying probe offers a robust method of detecting and eliminating common manufacturing defects without the need for dedicated fixturing.
Automated Optical Inspection
JJS boasts a state-of the-art Goepel AOI system for high-speed, accurate and consistent inspection of SMT assemblies. Typically performing several thousand component and solder joint inspections in less than a minute, this system uses high resolution optics to inspect even the smallest of components, providing ‘real time’ feedback to the production line and ensuring optimal manufacturing integrity.
